Janet Green
MA Hons, DipM, MNCHM

I come from a varied background – from an MA Hons degree in Philosophy at St Andrews, via working as a care assistant in a home for the elderly, to a director’s position in an advertising agency, with a stint at the British Red Cross along the way!

Civil funeral celebrant

After attending several funerals in a short space of time, I realised the importance of telling the story of a life in a way that truly reflects the individual rather than adhering to a traditional and all-too-often impersonal formula.

Having spent two decades in private practice as a complementary therapist I have developed sympathetic yet professional listening skills. This means that when spending time with the bereaved family I am able to work with them to produce an apt and fitting tribute to their loved one.

My writing and speaking skills have been honed during my career in commercial advertising and as a teacher of complementary therapies, meaning that I am able to compose and deliver the funeral ceremony to the highest professional standards with sensitivity and empathy.

I have successfully completed and passed the National Qualification NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy (RQF), which is the highest possible qualification in Funeral Celebrancy in the UK.
